In 2018, we launched our #3weeks project aimed at reducing single use plastics straws at bars and restaurants on our Estate. #3weeks was designed using behavioural research which suggests it takes three weeks to break a habit. From this, 83 stores progressively banned plastic straws permanently and we succeeded in reducing the use of over 2 million straws. As of 1 April 2021, plastic straws have been banned in the UK.
